Many DJs started with very limited equipment to jumpstart their career. It is an exciting career route that attracts many. When asked why he wanted to become a DJ, DJ Finesco states, “I was influenced by my uncle DJ Epps. As a kid, I noticed he always got to hang out with famous rappers because he worked in clubs in Miami.” Whatever the reason is, we learned in an article that there are many choices of technology to choose from to start your own DJ business. DJ Finesco states, “I started with an old laptop, a used DJ controller, and one speaker. I remember I thought I was a big deal but now I realize how amateur I was. Eventually, as I made money from house parties I invested it back in my equipment. Now I have two professional speakers, a MacBook laptop, professional headphones, a microphone, a Pioneer controller, a four-foot table, a façade, lights, lasers, and a bunch of other miscellaneous DJ equipment. I probably have about $10,000 worth of equipment. I have a come a long way since I started.” If you want to start a DJ business researching equipment is very important. There are many stores like, Guitar Center, that even sell a DJ bundle package. Like many businesses, a strong plan is critical for achievement as an entrepreneur.
